ukranian artisanal crafts
The Ukraine has beautiful traditional artisanal crafts. I was drawn to their embroidered napkins and tablecloths but in the less traditional blue hues, their painted plates, wooden trunks painted only traditional designs with only black paint and the totally unpractical but texturally interesting woven slippers (formally, they were used for peasants too poor to afford shoes).
