World War II commemorative plaques

These commemorative plaques are all over Warsaw marking the heroic achievements and defense of Polish citizens against the Nazis during World War II. They are exactly in the spot where some violent or heroic event occurred and they are many times the spot of executions. For example, the third photo down says, "This is a place that is sacred with the blood of Polish people who gave their lives for the freedom of their country. Here in August 1944, fifteen Poles lost their lives in a fight against the Nazis."
