Lad textiles in the Lazienki
Lad textiles is a hidden spot in the back of the Lazienki by the Belvedere Restaurant. It is housed in a row of glass greenhouses and has a simple sign out front notifying the visitor that this is a former Royal textile manufacturing site. Inside you will find a wonderland of antique tapestry looms from the late 19th century that are still used today by the six craftsmen and women who work here. Besides the enchantment of the place itself, their products are beautiful, especially the tablecloths and curtain panels. They are made of a combination of Polish linen and silk, are handmade inside the studio on the antique looms and there is only one made in a series. I have to say that these are the most beautiful and high quality examples of Polish artisanal 'craft' that I have seen since I have been here. This hidden place tucked away in the back of the Lazienki is a place you must visit in Warsaw.
